Phishing Is Not Phunny

Picture

This is just a few words on Phishing which is people trying to scam you on line, and how to deal with it. For example, I received an email telling me that my Sirius XM subscription has expired and if I click below, I can extend it for 3 months free. First of all, my subscription had not expired. Second, they wanted my credit card information to cover the period after the free months. If you get one of these, or anything being offered free, don’t even get curious. Just erase it.

Or, you have just won (something expensive – you name it) all you have to do is click below. This often turns into a survey which is valid for the surveyor but all you have to do is pay the shipping fee for your prize. Don’t pay it and don’t do the survey. They will take your shipping fee and you won’t get anything and they will get their survey.

But the worst is when you turn on your computer and it says something like YOUR COMPUTER HAS BEEN ATTACKED BY A VIRUS, DO NOT TURN IT OFF, YOU MUST CALL THE NUMBER BELOW IMMEDIATELY TO REMOVE IT. My suggestion is immediately reboot the computer and continue with your life.

There are thousands of phishers out there trying to get your information so they can scam you. New ones appear every day. It works or they wouldn’t do it. Don’t get tempted. If it’s phree, it’s always phony from a phisher.
