A 4,000-acre (16-square-kilometer) county park in Bergen County, New Jersey, borders the Ramapo Mountain State Forest to the south and Ringwood State Park to the north, the Ramapo Valley County Reservation, often known as the Ramapo Reservation, is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The park is situated on the dividing line between the geologic zones of Piedmont and the Highlands.

Tent camping is offered in the park, hiking along a mountain stream with a waterfall, Scarlet Oak Pond, MacMillan Reservoir, fishing in the Ramapo River, and other activities. The paths connect to a network of trails in the state forest and state park nearby and the national forest. Owners of canoes, kayaks, and rafts are also welcome to use the park to reach the Ramapo River.

The Ramapo Reservation is a popular hangout for students at Ramapo College, less than a mile away on Route 202, and acts as the school's environmental science lab. It is a short walk from the college.

As a result of its location in conjunction with the aforementioned nearby parks, the park is also a well-known geocaching hotspot. In addition, new Jersey Search and Rescue is also based at a former Bergen County Police substation near the parking lot that serves as its headquarters.

There are five loop trails in the park, all of which begin within a two-mile radius of the parking area and are all accessible by car. The Vista Loop Trail has three panoramic panoramas, a pond, a reservoir, and a waterfall, among other features (yellow blaze). In addition, the park is a popular destination for dog walkers.

"The Reservation" is a prominent Bergen County Park in Mahwah. Many people wander around Scarlet Oak Pond, a former gravel quarry, or ascend to MacMillan Reservoir on a broad, smooth-surface road (which once supplied the Crocker Mansion on the far side of Ramapo Valley Road). It is popular among dog owners who want to exercise their dogs.

The Ramapo Valley County Reservation, located in a tranquil and magnificent corner of the globe, should be a wonderful day trip for anybody looking for outstanding natural beauty. If you decide to come, there are many things to participate in. You can explore the 21 miles (33 kilometers) of trails, take in the breathtaking views of the pond and reservoir, and even try your hand at fishing in the Ramapo River, located nearby. Campers are welcome to remain on the premises if they choose to prolong their stay in this breathtakingly beautiful global region.
